High Tech Water Fountain

I know this isn't a post about something free or a good deal at a store, but this water fountain is really awesome. If you have just a few minutes, watch this video...

Do you know of any places with really neat forms of artwork? Share your findings and pictures if you have any in the comment area below. As always, I love to hear what the readers have to say.

Kroger Deals 8/27 - 9/2 Houston Area

As usual, I am only going to post the best deals I see in the Kroger ad. I used to post the entire sale with matchups, but the list can get pretty extensive and not very eye catching. If you would like to see the list with matchups in its entirety click here, you might have to register to see the list.

Tide laundry detergent is on sale for $5.99
pair up with the $1 off coupon from the 8/3 PG insert (it expires 8/31) and load the $1 off coupon from the Kroger website here, Final price = $3.99

Downy Fabric Softener is also $5.99
use the $1 off coupon from the 8/24 RP insert and load the $1 off coupon here
Final price = $3.99

French's Yellow or Brown mustard is $1
use this .50¢ off coupon when doubled = Free

Hormel Bacon is B1G1 Free
Use the .50¢ off coupon from the 2/17 SS insert if you still have it
after the coupon doubles, they should be around $2 ea., while I don't think this is a really good price for bacon, it is a decent price for this brand.

McCormick Grinders are $1, use the .25¢ off coupon from the 5/4 RP (this expires 8/31),
Final price = .25¢

Charmin 9 roll packs are $3.99, pair up with the .25¢ off coupon and load the .50¢ off coupon here, Final price = $2.74 or .30¢ per roll

Pace Salsa is 2/$5, use the $1 off 1 specality sauce coupon from the 7/27 SS. Final price = $1.50

Bird's Eye Frozen Veggies are $1.88, use this $1 off coupon, there is a $1 off 1 coupon in the Sept. issue of Redbook, Sept issue of Better Homes and Gardens, Sept issue of Parenting Mag. and the Sept issue of All You
Final price = .88¢

Pepperidge Frozen Items (Texas Toast, etc.) are 30% off, pair with the $1 off coupon (for any Frozen bread) from CellFire here
Final cost = Varies

Q Tips (500ct) are $2, use the .30¢ off coupon from the 8/17 RP, Final cost = $1.10

Now here comes the best part of this post:

If you are a member of Cell Fire, there is a $10 off a $50 purchase coupon you can load to your Plus Card, if you are not a member, I suggest you sign up, this offer will be available to you as well. The website is a little difficult to navigate, but this link will take you directly to the offers available for the Kroger Stores. The $10 off of a $50 purchase offer is only good through Sept. 8th.

Couponizer Sale!!!

The Couponizer is a wonderful tool to use to organize coupons. I just recently received mine, and am still in the process of getting used to it (I was using the binder method before) so I can write a review on it to tell all of you how much I like it.

From now until October 15th, you can get an extra 10% off of the Couponizer with the coupon code STARTNOW. Click the banner above to order yours.

This unique tool sells for $19.95, plus save 10% and get a FREE BOOK, an $18 value, while supplies last. You also get Your Guide to Smart Savings, CoupStacker - presorting mat, Shopping List, CoupTracker to record monthly savings, Scissors, and a Carrying Bag

I am also a Couponizer Consultant, meaning that, in the near future I will be hosting small get-togethers to teach others how to save money on their grocery bill. Saving money is not all about clipping coupons, there is much more to that, and I will be showing them that saving money on groceries starts long before you even get to the store.

Good Finds

At Walgreens:

At Target:

  • Luv's diapers are $6.99 at Target, those of you who got the $5 off coupon, it would be a good time to use it. * Update, I just received an email for Luv's with a link to Target coupons to make that deal even better, stack this $1 off coupon with the other one to get your pack of diapers for just .99¢!!
  • Ziplock bags (25ct) in the check out lanes are $1.00, use this .75¢ off coupon to get them for a quarter a piece (press the back button a few times and a second coupon should print)

Kroger Deals 8/20 - 8/26

It looks to be a scarce week for deals at Kroger, click here to view the ad for your area.

This week I am only highlighting the good deals, that are even better when you combine a coupon with them.

Cheerios are 2/$4, go here and here for a $1 off coupon and get these for $1/box

Fast Fixin Chicken is 10/$10, sign up here to get $1 off coupons

Loreal Vive is B1G1 Free, use the B1G1 coupon from the 07-13-08 SS

Bar-S Hot dogs are 4/$5, sign up and get a .25¢ off coupon, if it triples at your store, they will be .50¢ea

$3 off coupon for TGI frozen appetizer

There is an instant win game going on at the TGI Friday's website here, and they will give you a coupon as a thank you for signing up. Originally they were giving a $3 off coupon, but they have changed it to a $1 off coupon as of this morning when I signed up.

This website has the link to the original $3 off coupon, just as a heads up, the link that is provided in the forum will probably be taken down soon.

Free Razor coupon in catalog

According to Slick Deals, there is a coupon for a free Schick Quattro razor for women in the Roxy fall catalog.

Go to this website and request your free catalog

Kleenex Cottonelle Tissue

I received an email from Kleenex to play a game for a coupon. The game is really simple, there is a .50¢ off coupon hidden under one of the 100 puppies. You just keep clicking until you find it...

My grocery store often has this toilet paper on sale for $1.00, and doubles coupons up to .50¢, so the final cost of this ends up being free.

I really like this tissue paper, but it seems like the roll doesn't last as long as other brands, does anyone else have this problem?

Question for everyone...

I upgraded my browser to Firefox 3 today and now when I view my blog, I only see 1 sidebar and the rest has slipped halfway down the page, but when I look at it in Internet Explorer it looks fine.

Would you please let me know when you look at the blog if it looks correct or not and what browser you are using? Thank you.

This week has been hectic and it seems like it's just one problem after another... hopefully it is just my new browser making it look funny.

Slight problem with email updates

Yesterday I posted a Redbox code that was valid until midnight last night. I got a message from a reader that by the time she received the email update the code was a day late.

I want to express my apologies to everyone. I will be in contact with Feedburner to see if there is a way to change the time the email is sent.

Until I find a way to fix that, I recommend subscribing to RSS feed, or send me an email to opt in receiving Redbox codes via text message. I use Teleflip to text message Redbox codes. All I have to do is send an email to your-phone-number@teleflip . com, the message will display that day's code, and normal text message rates apply. Teleflip, nor I will ever send any spam text messages.

Again I want to apologize to anyone who ended up missing out on something because the email was sent a day late.

I read this to my love last night, and we both laughed hysterically! We can relate to every area of this post. He now knows that I'm not the only one who has a seemly endless supply of toothpaste, shampoo and other various items. I must say though, that when it comes down to it, I have been blessed with a guy who has a great amount of patience and understanding, especially when it comes to the way we shop these days.

Here's my question for you, What does your husband or boyfriend think of the massive amount of coupons we have acquired, the ever-growing stockpile, or even the several shopping trips made during the week just to make sure we don't miss a great deal?

Free e Books

One of my readers, Katie, passed on a great website to check out, it's called www.planetebook.com.

This website has over 50 classic books available for no charge. This would be a great place for high school and college students to use. When I was looking over the list, I recognized about 2 dozen titles that were required reading during my high school years. Since the local library was not very close to me, I ended up having to buy most of these books, if only I had known about this site back then....

She also suggested checking out this site, http://www.musicovery.com/, it is an interesting website that gears the music to your mood. There are many different genre's to pick from as well as different time periods. If you register for the site, it will remember the songs you like and dislike.
BTW, if the registration page is in another language than English, click the British Flag.

Kroger Ad

This is only a partial post since the Kroger website is taking forever to connect to their server and it's late.... with that said, here are some of the better deals that I see for this week:

Little Debbie Snacks 10/$10 - Use the $.25 off coupon from the 6/1 insert to get these for $.25ea
Oscar Meyer Hot Dogs are B1G1 free - use the free wyb 3 coupon to get an extra pack of hot dogs
Hungry Man Dinners are $2.25 - use this $1.00 off coupon, you will have to enter a sweeps to get the coupon
Kleenex Tissue is $.88 - use the $1/3 coupon from the 8/3 SS and you can get them for $.55 ea wyb 3
Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls are $1, use the $.30 off coupon from the most recent insert to get these for $.10
Pillsbury Grands are also $1, use the $.30 off 2 coupon from the most recent insert to get these for $.55 ea
Quaker Chewy bars are 2/$4, use the $1/2 from the 7/20 SS or the 8/10 SS inserts to get these for $1.50 ea (not the best price though)

I went to the store to get a couple things and I noticed that Totinos Pizza Rolls are 4/$5, use one of the many $.35 coupons from recent papers and get them for $.2oea
Also, Cheerios Chex Mix is 2/$4, use a $.50 off coupon and get them for $1 per bag
I picked up a pack of Kraft Singles for free with the coupon from the All You magazine and bought 3 packets of Kool-Aid, they were only on sale 5/$1, so if you don't need cheese right now you should probably wait on using these coupons.

I am hoping that the Kleenex Cottonelle toilet paper goes on sale within the next 10 days because I have about 35 coupons for this that will expire. The plan was to get these on sale at $1 and after my coupon triples, it will only be $.25 for 4 rolls, if they do not go on sale, ($1.19 reg price) it will only cost $.44 but that is a $6 difference in the final cost...

It's a Redbox Wednesday

Product Review - Kinoki Foot Pads

Photobucket

I have been hearing a lot about the Kinoki Foot Pads lately and I had the opportunity to try them for free. I wanted to share my experience with all of you.

Kinoki Foot Pads are available for purchase online, on home shopping channels, and also at CVS, Walgreens, and supercenters like Wal-mart. The prices vary depending where you buy them. Before I started using these I did quite a bit of research on what was in them, and other people's opinions of the product. What I had gathered was about 50% of the people who used them were satisfied and the other 50% were not satisfied.

The company who sells these detox foot pads claim that you will feel "energized and clean, more rested, revitalized and invigorated, relaxed and a have a sense of well being". It was hard for me to believe that all of this could come from a company who has no scientific data on their website. They just tell you to use them everyday until no discoloration occurs.

The same night that I got the Kinoki box I started using them. I wanted to make sure that they had the best opportunity to work, so I followed all the instructions exactly. I took a shower and paid special attention to wash the bottom of my feet extra clean. I dried my feet and applied the pads the way the instructions indicated. I noticed that the pad itself smelled like lavender and herbs. The instructions said to leave them on for approx. 8 - 10 hours. So, I went to bed.

The next morning I woke up and actually did feel rested, but I think that is because it was the first night that I actually got 8 hours of sleep in awhile. I proceeded to peel the pads off of my feet... the gauze was extremely sticky to my feet and sort of hurt to peel it off, it also left a VERY sticky residue on them. The Kinoki pad itself was discolored, but nothing like the picture on their website. I also noticed that the smell of lavender was gone and replaced with the smell of woodchips. (That was a common statement from other people whom I had read opinions from) Throughout the day I noticed that my feet felt strange where the pad was the night before.

Test Day 2: I repeated the same process as before, and went to bed. The next morning I woke up, extremely tired and definitely not like the website claims. I took the Kinoki pad off, and it was the same color as the day before and again the same smell. The sticky pad came off a little easier this time, but still left a lot of residue behind.

Test days 3-7: I repeated the same thing each night I was supposed to use them. Each morning I woke up, peeled them off and they were the same color and smell. I did not feel well rested on any of the remaining days I used them. I was actually more tired.

Out of the 14 silver packets with the sachets of Kinoki powders in them and 14 sticky gauze pads, I was only able to use 10 of the sachets and 11 gauze stickers. There was a night that I was opening the silver packet and the inside packet tore open, so I couldn't use that one not to mention I didn't want that stuff loose in my bed. Another night I was putting them on and a fan had blown one of the sticky gauze pads over itself and was no longer usable. Another night the gauze that was on my feet wouldn't stay on, so I put another one on top of it, so that left one more silver packet that was not usable because I had nothing to hold it on with.

My final conclusion of this product is to keep your $20. If you are concerned about removing toxins from your body, drink lots of water, get some exercise (sweat removes toxins), and eat some cilantro with your food since its a natural heavy metal "magnet" in your body. If you would like to read more about how cilantro works, just google cilantro and heavy metals you will be surprised at what it can do.

I never experienced the "benefits" that were mentioned on their website. I also went back to the
website earlier today to gather information for this post and they have recently added this statement "*Individual results may vary. These results are not typical." So if you were still interested in using them even after reading my review, this product now has the same label diet pills and extreme diets have, reason being is because they don't work.

Free Tampax Sample from Walmart.com

Get a free sample of Tampax Pearl from Walmart.com by clicking here.

*****
Speaking of Wal-mart, the new issue of All You is out and you should definitely run, not walk, to get a copy.. or 2.. or 3 of them. At only $1.77 - $1.97 each the savings from one coupon will make up for what you spend. Here is a list of coupons from this months issue.

I have a subscription to this magazine through Kathryn Beich, they are now part of Great American Fundraisers, and is the best deal I could find when I signed up. They are currently offering 12 issues for $15, or 18 issues for $20 (when I signed up it was 18 issues for $15). Click here for the website

There is another way to get this magazine for a good price, but it involves more steps: Sign up with ebates.com, if you are a new customer and make a purchase within 30 days you can get a $10 gift card to circuit city, target, etc. or $5 cash.

Once you log in, search for magazines, then go to magazines.com - it should say you earn 26% back from buying there. The All You subscription is $19.97, but you will make $5.20 back from ebates, and new customers will get a gift card or $5 cash.

Free bag of Kitty litter after rebate

New customers who buy Precious Kitty litter can send in a rebate form (located here) along with the UPC and original receipt and they will send you a check back. There is a $1.00 off coupon located here, so this might end up making you $1.00 more than you spend. The coupon and rebate form do not have an expiration date on them, so this offer is probably only good while it is posted on their website. This product looks like it is sold at Petsmarts, but if you are not sure, there is a dealer locater on their main page in the top left corner

Kroger Ad 8/6 - 8/12

Here are the ad scans for this weeks Kroger Sale. There are a few things I want to mention because they are a great deal:

Electrasol Auto Dish Detergent - $2.89
Use with the $2.25 off coupon = .64¢ ea

Crest Toothpaste $1.00
Use with $1 off 2 coupon =.50¢ ea
(You can usually get these free elsewhere, but good price if you have to buy it now)

Pillsbury Crescent Rolls and Grands biscuits are $1.00
You can print a .35¢ off coupon for crescent rolls from my sidebar on the right (if your store will double or triple these could be free or close to free)
There was a .35¢ off coupon for crescent rolls in the 07-13-08 SS
You can also print a .50¢ off 2 Grands biscuits coupon from my sidebar

There are lots of good deals this week, but the ones above are the best one's I see.

Creative Writings is doing their first giveaway! The blog has made it to their first 50 posts, and they are giving away a Coby Digital Photo Keychain in celebration. The keychain holds up to 60 photos. You can enter the giveaway by clicking this link. Best of luck to everyone that enters!

Last minute Kroger deal

My Kroger sales run from Wednesday to Tuesday. Today is the last day of their Mega Sale, buy 10 participating items and get an instant $5 off your purchase. This is what I did, there are other combinations of items that you can get also.

4 Kellogs Rice Krispi Treats
4 Keebler Cookies
2 Boxes of Eggo Waffles

Subtotal = $20
Instant savings - $5
new subtotal = $15
$1 off 2 Rice Krispies = $14
$1 off 2 Rice Krispies = $13
$1 off 2 Keebler Cookies =$12
$1 off 2 Keebler Cookies = $11
$1 off 2 Eggo Waffles = $10

Then fill out the $10 rebate form that was on the page with the coupons from this past weekends paper and all this ends up being free!
I had to wait until today to make this purchase because in the fine print on the rebate form it says purchases must be made between 8/5 and 9/30, also all items must be on the same receipt. I know this news is a little late but between having a tropical storm in the area and getting the coupon giveaway going, I haven't had much time for anything else.
Also, I have 1 extra rebate form if anyone needs it, just leave me a comment or email me at myspotwebmaster@yahoo.com and I will get it over to you!

Public Service Announcement

PineCone Research sent me an email telling me that they are growing, meaning that they are taking new members, they pay you for each survey you complete and in house product testing. I have been a member for quite some time now and the surveys are not excessively long or boring. I cannot however mention what products that I've taken the surveys for but I am completely satisfied with this company. Below I will attach the email that was sent to me if you are interested in signing up. I nor does any other member get any money for referrals.

PineCone Research is ready to grow and we need your help!
If you have ever told a friend about doing surveys for PineCone Research, it is likely that they have asked, "How can I join?"
Well, now you can tell them how to become part of this elite group of households. We are offering select members the opportunity to recommend membership to a friend or relative who is NOT a member of their household.
Do you know of households that would like to join the PineCone Research Panel? If so, please FORWARD A COPY of this email to each household you would like to refer so that they may click on the registration link shown below. That household should complete the registration form themselves and submit it. REMEMBER THAT ONLY ONE PERSON PER HOUSEHOLD MAY REGISTER. Multiple registrations of the same Household will void all registrations.
Here is the link to the registration:

As a member in good standing, you've already seen the benefits of being part of PineCone Research. So please, share the benefits of membership with a friend. Just don't forget, please don't tell them about any of the products that you have seen in our questionnaires or tried in your home. Remember, it's important that your PineCone Research survey and product testing experiences remain confidential.
If your referral has any questions, they can email us at

Walgreens trip

Yesterday there was a coupon for Walgreens for $5 off a $20 purchase. Here's what I did:
2 boxes of Tuf trash bags - B1G1 free
6 bags Hershey's Bliss Chocolate - 2/$8 & used the $2/2 ESR coupon & 6 IPC coupons
2 Skintimate Shave Gels - $.99 with in ad coupon & also used 2 $.55 off coupons
2 spirals - used in ad coupon that made them 8/$1
1 Neosporin and used $1 off coupon
and used the $5/$20 coupon
Total was $17.xx
I should get $1o back by rebate for the Bliss chocolate ($5 per every $1o you spend) and $5 back for the trash bags
So the total net cost of everything in the pic below was $2 and some change

After the first transaction I was going to buy these at the same store but the cashier told me I could only use 1 $5/$20 in one day, so I just drove down the street to a different store so I could finish my shopping, at the next store I bought a waffle maker and a small food processor and 2 snicker bars (not pictured).
So here's how that deal worked out:
Food processor - $9.99
Waffle Maker - $9.99
2 snickers - $.69
Subtotal - $20.67
- $5 off coupon
Total - $15.67
Then I will submit my rebate for $8
Total net cost for waffle maker and processor = $3.50 ea

So in total I spent $32 at the store, but I will get back $23 in rebates

USA Baby freebies

A couple weeks ago there was a deal that you could sign up for and get a free gift from USA Baby, well the gift for my area was a $10 off gift card and a Mustela gift pack. The $1o off gift card ended up being a credit off of your purchase, but still it was a good deal. Here's what I got: a rubber duck bath tub water thermometer, a stuffed animal lamb that plays a lullaby when the tummy is pressed and the gift pack.. this will make a great baby shower gift.

CVS Freebie

Here is an email that I got today from CVS, it says that you will get a coupon for a free item on the bottom of your receipt the first time you use your card in August. There is also a 1800 number for a no purchase nessary coupon, so if you don't make it to CVS (an unlikely scenerio if you read this or any other money saving blog) you can still get your coupon :)
